When a board-topper like Braden Fiske slides to the Round 3 slot, you do not overthink it, and the Packers did not. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th overall pick they get a disruptor off the edge at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Adonai Mitchell at No. 41. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They took Kingsley Suamataia at par in the Round 2 slot, which is nothing to complain about. The roster fit checks out.
Circle this one: Braden Fiske at Round 3, Pick 25 is a fall that decides a draft. A need, and now a little less of one.
A quiet steal in pick 89: Max Melton for less than the market said. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
No edge and no loss on Mohamed Kamara in pick No. 126; it is a wash and a sensible one. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Tykee Smith slid further than he should have, and the 169th pick is lovely value for the safety. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
They robbed the room for Curtis Jacobs here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Josh Proctor at Round 7, Pick 25 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
