Thirty-one other rooms let Xavier Worthy slide, and the Packers were the ones holding the card at the 88th pick. Highway robbery. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
The Watson reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 25 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Troy Fautanu in the 41st pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
T'Vondre Sweat at pick No. 58 is money in the bank, a interior defensive lineman taken below his worth. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They barely believed it either: Xavier Worthy still on the board at the 88th overall pick. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They liked Cole Bishop enough to skip the value, taking him in the Round 3 slot. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
They let Elijah Jones come to them and pounced at pick 126. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Nice patience on Dwight McGlothern, who had no business lasting to slot 169. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Myles Cole at Round 6, Pick 27 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A tidy bit of business in the Round 6 slot, where Tanner McLachlan graded well above the range. A need, and now a little less of one.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Edefuan Ulofoshio at No. 245. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Blake Watson in pick No. 255 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
