The Cowboys spent the pick that matters most on Bo Nix, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape.
Jordan at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 24th pick they get the face of the franchise at fair value. A real need, handled.
Patrick Paul in slot 56 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Mike Sainristil at No. 87 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A tidy bit of business in the Round 4 slot, where Tyrice Knight graded well above the range. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Jaylin Simpson in the 173rd overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They robbed the room for Marcellas Dial here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They barely believed it either: Jawhar Jordan still on the board at pick 242. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
