The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Ro Torrence, Round 7, Pick 24, roughly 67 picks past where he belonged.
A whole weekend of picks and wide receiver is somehow still a want. They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 24 they get a premier pass rusher, and a steal at that. More want than need.
They paid sticker price for Zach Frazier in the Round 2 slot, and that is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Kingsley Suamataia at the 87th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Ty'Ron Hopper in No. 174 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Jaylan Ford in slot 216 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Logan Lee at Round 7, Pick 13 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
The board fumbled Ro Torrence all the way to the 244th overall pick, and they scooped it up. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
