Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Patriots were there to profit. Jay Higgins, the No. 122 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 195th overall pick. Add it all up and it grades out a clean A-.

They will need Dennis-Sutton to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up.

Bottom line, they left the weekend a clearly better team, and they earned every bit of it.
