The war room fell hard for Jordan Hudson, and it showed at the 257th pick: 59 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
Getting Scott where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
The De'Von Achane deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
Eli Stowers in the Round 2 slot is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
You do not let a cornerback like Keionte Scott reach Round 3, Pick 36 and blink. They did not. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A clean, defensible pick in No. 138 with a little surplus value in Harold Perkins Jr.. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Fair-plus on Jakobe Thomas, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It adds depth where they could use a little.
They reached a country mile for Diego Pavia at pick 209, and the board is aghast. A need, and now a little less of one.
By-the-book stuff, Fa'alili Fa'amoe at the 256th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Jordan Hudson in the Round 7 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The roster fit checks out.
