Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Broncos, and the value they bled adds up to real damage. Call it a C+ and check back in two years.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. Getting Gyllenborg where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They left with linebacker solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
The verdict is a shrug for now, with the swing picks left to write the real ending.
Pick-by-Pick
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Eli Stowers at No. 62. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Fair-plus on Darrell Jackson Jr., a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They took Taurean York at par in pick 111, which is nothing to complain about. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A tidy little value on Louis Moore in slot 168, a step better than break-even. It adds depth where they could use a little.
By-the-book stuff, Bryce Boettcher at the Round 5 slot squarely in line with his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Fa'alili Fa'amoe at the 246th overall pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They let Miller Moss come to them and pounced at pick No. 256. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They read the board right and John Michael Gyllenborg was the payoff at Round 7, Pick 41. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
