The board owed the Broncos one, and it paid up: Anthony Hill Jr., the No. 39 name on the board, sitting there at the 62nd overall pick like a gift left on the doorstep. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. Job largely done: linebacker settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
The board fumbled Anthony Hill Jr. all the way to the Round 2 slot, and they scooped it up. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Value with a capital V on Sam Roush in pick 108, a genuine coup. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Bud Clark at pick No. 111 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A minor need, but a need all the same.
A tidy bit of business in the 170th pick, where Beau Stephens graded well above the range. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Kaelon Black in No. 223 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
