Boards are made to be trusted, and the Cardinals shredded theirs for Kevin Jennings. He came off 84 spots early, and the room will hear about it. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
Bech at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 16 they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher at fair value.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Tyler Booker in Round 2, Pick 15. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Jack Nelson in slot 78 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They will replay Jack Bech at the 114th pick for years; that is how good the value is. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They talked themselves into Kevin Jennings at pick 151, and the board did not agree. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
