Boards are made to be trusted, and the Packers shredded theirs for Myles Cole. He came off 56 spots early, and the room will hear about it.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Davis. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th overall pick they get a ballhawk on the outside. The biggest hole, addressed.
A straight-up fair deal on Calen Bullock at No. 41, value and slot in agreement. It adds depth where they could use a little.
By-the-book stuff, Jonathon Brooks at pick 58 squarely in line with his ranking. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Caelen Carson in slot 88 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Zak Zinter in the 91st pick is fair value, right on his grade. The roster fit checks out.
Max Melton in Round 4, Pick 27 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Nice patience on Edefuan Ulofoshio, who had no business lasting to No. 168. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Curtis Jacobs in the 204th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Isaiah Davis in the 216th pick, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Myles Cole in pick 243, miles early. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Anthony Gould. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
