Somebody in slot 237 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Packers sat still while Cam Skattebo, the No. 110 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
The cost of the Foreman reach is exactly the players who went right after him. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. They trusted the board more than the depth chart.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 23 they get a ballhawk on the outside at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
A quiet steal in the 54th pick: Tyler Warren for less than the market said. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Jalen Royals in the Round 3 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
The board fumbled Jake Majors all the way to the 122nd overall pick, and they scooped it up. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Quinshon Judkins at Round 5, Pick 21 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Lander Barton in pick No. 196 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It adds depth where they could use a little.
You do not let a running back like Cam Skattebo reach pick 237 and blink. They did not. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Korey Foreman in No. 250 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
