The Chiefs did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Danny Stutsman fell into pick 133.

It is not that Mukuba is a bad player; it is that the Chiefs had louder needs to answer first. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.32 · Pick 32 · Emeka Egbuka · WR · rank 28
In the 32nd pick they get a home-run threat at receiver. The biggest hole, addressed.
R2.32 · Pick 64 · Xavier Watts · S · rank 48
A tidy bit of business in the Round 2 slot, where Xavier Watts graded well above the range. A minor need, but a need all the same.
R3.2 · Pick 66 · Andrew Mukuba · S · rank 73
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Andrew Mukuba at safety with quarterback, running back and other spots open.
R3.32 · Pick 96 · Mason Taylor · TE · rank 102
Mason Taylor in Round 3, Pick 32 is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R4.32 · Pick 133 · Danny Stutsman · LB · rank 89
Danny Stutsman in No. 133 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R7.41 · Pick 255 · Garrett Dellinger · OG · rank 260
They took Garrett Dellinger at par in slot 255, which is nothing to complain about. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
