The Chiefs did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Danny Stutsman fell into pick 133.
It is not that Mukuba is a bad player; it is that the Chiefs had louder needs to answer first. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 32nd pick they get a home-run threat at receiver. The biggest hole, addressed.
A tidy bit of business in the Round 2 slot, where Xavier Watts graded well above the range. A minor need, but a need all the same.
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Andrew Mukuba at safety with quarterback, running back and other spots open.
Mason Taylor in Round 3, Pick 32 is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
