They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Giants' quarterback, full stop. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
Reaching for Guerendo left real value on the table behind him. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 6 they get a franchise quarterback at fair value. A real need, handled.
They let Brian Thomas Jr. come to them and pounced at the 39th overall pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They paid a round early for Chris Braswell in slot 47, more than the board wanted. It fills a real need, too.
No drama and no debate, Roman Wilson went about where he belonged in No. 76. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Dominick Puni in pick No. 108 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A conviction pick on Theo Johnson at the Round 5 slot that the board grades a round light. A need, and now a little less of one.
A big swing on Christian Jones at the 185th pick, well ahead of any board in the building. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Isaac Guerendo in Round 7, Pick 17 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
