The board owed the Chiefs one, and it paid up: Mohamed Kamara, the No. 133 name on the board, sitting there at No. 159 like a gift left on the doorstep. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped offensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. The trade work was a quiet net positive. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 32 they get a No. 1 receiver. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Value with a capital V on Xavier Worthy in pick No. 64, a genuine coup. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
You do not let a tight end like Cade Stover reach the 95th pick and blink. They did not. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 4 slot with a little surplus value in Isaac Guerendo. It fills a real need, too.
Circle this one: Mohamed Kamara at No. 159 is a fall that decides a draft. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Xavier Thomas at slot 174 is the proof. The roster fit checks out.
