Thirty-one other rooms let Jabbar Muhammad slide, and the Chiefs were the ones holding the card at the 193rd overall pick. Highway robbery. Good, not great, and the B+ says as much.
The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.
Adding Gervon Dexter Sr. by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
A cornerback of that caliber at slot 33 is the definition of value, full stop. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Malaki Starks at No. 64 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Kenneth Grant at pick 69 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Tez Johnson in Round 3, Pick 32, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They robbed the room for Oscar Delp here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Circle this one: Wyatt Milum at pick No. 148 is a fall that decides a draft. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
The board fumbled Tre Harris all the way to the 160th overall pick, and they scooped it up. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They will replay Jabbar Muhammad at the 193rd pick for years; that is how good the value is. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Steal is underselling it; Rylie Mills at Round 7, Pick 32 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
