Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Buccaneers spent pick No. 116 on Nadame Tucker, a name the board had a full 56 spots lower. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. The Wright pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.
The trades cost them a sliver of value they did not need to spend.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 26 they get a matchup problem out wide. A real need, handled.
Lee Hunter at the Round 2 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Good price on Jacob Rodriguez in No. 77, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Devin Moore at the 91st overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It fills a real need, too.
They reached a country mile for Nadame Tucker at Round 4, Pick 16, and the board is aghast. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Isaiah World in pick 155 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Dae'Quan Wright in Round 6, Pick 14. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
No edge and no loss on Aiden Fisher in the 220th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Thaddeus Dixon slipping to the Round 7 slot is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
