There is conviction, and then there is this. The Buccaneers took Nadame Tucker a full 56 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. On value alone, Wheatley makes the weekend a net positive.
They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Myles Garrett gives the group a proven body among the projects.
Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
Nice patience on Jermod McCoy, who had no business lasting to Round 1, Pick 28. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Domonique Orange in the 77th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They barely believed it either: Zakee Wheatley still on the board at No. 107. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
They talked themselves into Nadame Tucker at slot 116, and the board did not agree. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They paid a round early for Ar'maj Reed-Adams in pick No. 155, more than the board wanted. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
The board had Josh Cameron higher than the 195th pick, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Jimmy Rolder slid further than he should have, and the 229th pick is lovely value for the linebacker. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
