The Buccaneers bet big and early on Patrick Payton, 53 picks ahead of the board. Bold does not always mean right.
The Lance steal is the beam this whole class leans on. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one. They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a moveable chess piece at tight end, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
Anthony Hill Jr. in No. 46 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Chase Bisontis in Round 3, Pick 13 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
