The Buccaneers went off the board in a big way for Jack Pyburn, 54 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another.
It is not that Rodriguez is a bad player; it is that the Buccaneers had louder needs to answer first. The Roush value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

In the 15th overall pick they get a blindside protector. The biggest hole, addressed.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and CJ Allen at Round 2, Pick 14 is the proof. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
The eyebrow-raiser of the weekend. They went linebacker with Jacob Rodriguez while clear needs at interior defensive lineman, quarterback and other spots sat open.
They will replay Sam Roush at pick 116 for years; that is how good the value is. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
No drama and no debate, Beau Stephens went about where he belonged in the Round 5 slot. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Domani Jackson in slot 195 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A need, and now a little less of one.
They talked themselves into Jack Pyburn at the 229th overall pick, and the board did not agree. The roster fit checks out.
