The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Buccaneers reached some 58 spots for Nadame Tucker, and value like that does not grow back. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
The running back spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. However the rest shakes out, Campbell at that price is a win they earned.
They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 29 they get a ballhawk on the outside. A real need, handled.
They paid sticker price for Lee Hunter in No. 46, and that is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Kyle Louis in pick No. 77 is fair value, right on his grade. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Nadame Tucker in the 116th overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
The board had cheaper options than Tanner Koziol at Round 5, Pick 15, and it noticed. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
DJ Campbell slid further than he should have, and the Round 6 slot is lovely value for the offensive lineman. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Joey Aguilar in pick No. 229, miles early. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
