The Buccaneers treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending slot 195 on Logan Fano a full 60 spots early. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
On value alone, Golday makes the weekend a net positive. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through tight end. They left with interior defensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 15 they get an anchor for the defensive front at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Value said wait; Derrick Moore in No. 46 says they were not listening. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Taking Jake Golday in Round 3, Pick 16 is close to grand larceny; an edge rusher that good had no business lasting this long. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A running back of that caliber at the 116th pick is the definition of value, full stop. The roster fit checks out.
They read the board right and Charles Demmings was the payoff at the Round 5 slot. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Kage Casey at pick No. 162 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A wild overpay on Logan Fano in the 195th overall pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It fills a real need, too.
TJ Hall slipping to slot 229 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
