There is reaching, and then there is Nadame Tucker at slot 116. The Buccaneers jumped the board by 56 and dared it to prove them wrong. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
Landing Rivers that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. The dealing tilted against them, just enough to notice.
The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 26 they get a ballhawk on the outside, outstanding value to boot.
Anthony Hill Jr. slid further than he should have, and Round 2, Pick 14 is lovely value for the linebacker. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Circle this one: Jake Golday at No. 77 is a fall that decides a draft. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They talked themselves into Nadame Tucker at slot 116, and the board did not agree. A need, and now a little less of one.
Chandler Rivers at the Round 4 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pat Coogan in the 195th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Isaiah Jatta in the 229th pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
