The Buccaneers spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Jacob Rodriguez, the No. 72 name on the board, in the 116th overall pick.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
The cost of the Mesidor reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 17 they get a disruptor off the edge, a steep price for the projection. A clean fit for the roster.
A tidy bit of business in the Round 2 slot, where Chris Johnson graded well above the range. The roster fit checks out.
Jacob Rodriguez in the 116th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It adds depth where they could use a little.
No edge and no loss on Zxavian Harris in pick 155; it is a wash and a sensible one. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
