The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Buccaneers reached some 41 spots for Red Murdock, and value like that does not grow back. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. They will regret leaving offensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it.
They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the offensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 31 they get a lockdown presence outside at fair value.
By-the-book stuff, Jacob Rodriguez at the 46th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Good price on Domonique Orange in the 77th pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Max Llewellyn well ahead of where he belonged. It fills a real need, too.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Red Murdock this early at No. 155. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Ephesians Prysock at slot 195 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The roster fit checks out.
Dane Key in the Round 7 slot is fair value, right on his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
