Whoever sat across the table from the Buccaneers should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend.
The Jones value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Kayvon Thibodeaux pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 26 they get a downhill thumper at linebacker. Need was not the driver here.
By-the-book stuff, Lee Hunter at pick 46 squarely in line with his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A slide stopped in the 77th overall pick, with Keionte Scott worth more than the price. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Max Klare is a better player than the Round 3 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They will replay Logan Jones at Round 4, Pick 16 for years; that is how good the value is. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
No drama and no debate, Beau Stephens went about where he belonged in slot 155. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They did well to land Ephesians Prysock in pick No. 195, just ahead of his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
