The Commanders did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Ricky White III fell into No. 238. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
The Jackson reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
They took Mike Green at par in Round 1, Pick 29, which is nothing to complain about. A need, and now a little less of one.
They talked themselves into Donovan Jackson at No. 61, and the board did not agree. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Ozzy Trapilo at pick No. 79 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Somehow Joshua Farmer was still sitting there in the 149th pick, and they pounced on premier interior defensive lineman value. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They will replay Quincy Riley at slot 207 for years; that is how good the value is. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Circle this one: Ricky White III at the Round 7 slot is a fall that decides a draft. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They barely believed it either: Trevor Etienne still on the board at pick 250. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
