The Packers clearly saw something nobody else did in Curtis Jacobs, taking him 29 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Landing Fashanu that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Quantity was the play, for better or worse.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a long-term starter on the line, and a steal at that.
Cooper DeJean in the Round 2 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A reach for Jaylen Wright in pick No. 58; a little patience would have been rewarded. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
By-the-book stuff, Dominick Puni at the 91st overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They went early on Cole Bishop in pick 95, and the value did not follow. A minor itch, scratched.
Jarrian Jones at No. 124 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Mohamed Kamara in pick 126 is fair value, right on his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Curtis Jacobs. A minor need, but a need all the same.
No drama and no debate, Khristian Boyd went about where he belonged in No. 173. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They took Jared Wiley at par in Round 6, Pick 27, which is nothing to complain about. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A straight-up fair deal on Jordan Magee at slot 215, value and slot in agreement. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Garret Greenfield in the 219th overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A slide stopped in pick No. 245, with Edefuan Ulofoshio worth more than the price. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Marcellas Dial at the Round 7 slot is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
