Some picks age like wine; Will Howard at the 47th pick will need to, sitting 90 spots clear of his grade.
The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. They will regret leaving running back for another day if the season turns on it. The Harmon pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and running back is still a hole.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 7 they get a disruptor off the edge. Exactly the need they had to hit.
In slot 16 they get a long-term starter on the line, reach and all. The biggest hole, addressed.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Derrick Harmon at No. 42. A need, and now a little less of one.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Will Howard in the 47th overall pick, miles early. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A tidy little value on Tate Ratledge in the Round 3 slot, a step better than break-even. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Jaylin Noel at the 113th pick is the proof. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A big swing on Cobee Bryant at Round 5, Pick 14, well ahead of any board in the building. A minor need, but a need all the same.
