The rest of the league had time to spare on Beaux Limmer; the Cowboys did not wait, grabbing him 40 spots ahead at slot 87. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Pritchett. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
Graham Barton at No. 29 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They paid sticker price for Payton Wilson in pick 56, and that is fine. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Trey Benson at the 73rd overall pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Beaux Limmer in Round 3, Pick 24 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Nehemiah Pritchett in pick No. 174 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Steal is underselling it; Cornelius Johnson at the Round 6 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
No drama and no debate, Trevin Wallace went about where he belonged in the 233rd overall pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Evan Anderson at Round 7, Pick 24 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A need, and now a little less of one.
