Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Chris Braswell got past him. The Cowboys do not have to explain a thing at slot 87.
They punted on wide receiver, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. Nothing gained and nothing lost at the table.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.

In the Round 1 slot they get a long-term starter on the line. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on T.J. Tampa. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
