The search is over. The Cowboys handed the keys to Jayden Daniels, and the whole operation now runs on his development.
However the rest shakes out, Hopper at that price is a win they earned. The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Vidal has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 24 they get their guy under center for the next decade, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
They took Kingsley Suamataia at par in the Round 2 slot, which is nothing to complain about. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Adisa Isaac in the 87th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A minor itch, scratched.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Dwight McGlothern at No. 174. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Ty'Ron Hopper at the 216th pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Jordan Magee slid further than he should have, and pick 233 is lovely value for the linebacker. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A reach on Kimani Vidal in pick No. 244; the board had better options right there. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
