After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Patriots committed. Caleb Williams is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Amegadjie. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Reaching for Melton left real value on the table behind him.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 3rd overall pick they get the face of the franchise. A real need, handled.
Adonai Mitchell in Round 2, Pick 2 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Kiran Amegadjie at the 68th pick is the proof. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Max Melton at slot 103 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
