Start where it matters. The Commanders took Caleb Williams to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.
A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Hart.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 2 they get a long-term answer under center. A real need, handled.
JT Tuimoloau at the Round 2 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
No drama and no debate, Ja'Tavion Sanders went about where he belonged in slot 40. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They did well to land Edgerrin Cooper in the 67th overall pick, just ahead of his grade. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A tidy little value on Zak Zinter in pick No. 100, a step better than break-even. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A straight-up fair deal on Matt Goncalves at the 102nd pick, value and slot in agreement. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They let Cam Hart come to them and pounced at Round 5, Pick 5. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Kaden Prather in pick 181. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Isaiah Davis at Round 7, Pick 3. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
