After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Commanders committed. Caleb Williams is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline.
The Stover reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The Jordan pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.
That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 2 they get their quarterback of the future. A clean fit for the roster.
Troy Fautanu in Round 2, Pick 4 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Good price on Chop Robinson in the 40th pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Edgerrin Cooper at No. 67 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Cade Stover at pick 100 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Cooper Beebe at slot 102 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Nehemiah Pritchett in the 141st overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Nothing to complain about; Kaden Prather went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Circle this one: Jawhar Jordan at pick 223 is a fall that decides a draft. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
