Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Vikings, and the value they bled adds up to real damage. Little went right, and the F does not pretend otherwise.
Caleb Williams gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. That Bishop pick is the receipt they will wave around later.
Steele has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. That offensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

Pick-by-Pick
In the 2nd pick they get the face of the franchise. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
T'Vondre Sweat at the 42nd overall pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
The board had Chop Robinson higher than No. 43, and the edge rusher fell to them anyway. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Fair-plus on Marshawn Kneeland, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Kris Abrams-Draine in Round 5, Pick 32 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Taking Cole Bishop in pick 182 is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A slide stopped in the Round 7 slot, with Myles Jones worth more than the price. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Carson Steele at slot 232 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
