When the story of this class is written, it opens with Evan Anderson at the 233rd overall pick, a reach of 48 spots that the board flatly disagrees with. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through cornerback.
On value alone, Wallace makes the weekend a net positive.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.
Pick-by-Pick
They took Jordan Morgan at par in slot 30, which is nothing to complain about. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
By-the-book stuff, Zach Frazier at No. 56 squarely in line with his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A straight-up fair deal on Ja'Lynn Polk at the 73rd pick, value and slot in agreement. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Trey Benson in the Round 3 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The roster fit checks out.
A reach on DeWayne Carter in pick No. 93; the board had better options right there. A need, and now a little less of one.
Jaylan Ford in pick 174 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Trevin Wallace in pick No. 216 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Caedan Wallace slid further than he should have, and Round 6, Pick 43 is lovely value for the offensive lineman. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Evan Anderson this early at slot 233. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Trey Taylor well ahead of where he belonged. A minor itch, scratched.
