Boards are made to be trusted, and the Cowboys shredded theirs for McKinnley Jackson. He came off 64 spots early, and the room will hear about it. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
On value alone, Watson makes the weekend a net positive. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
Zach Frazier at pick No. 33 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Trey Benson at No. 56 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Ja'Lynn Polk at pick 73 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They reached into another round for Trevin Wallace, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, McKinnley Jackson well ahead of where he belonged. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Decamerion Richardson at the 174th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They did well to land Tyrice Knight in No. 216, just ahead of his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.

Somehow Nathaniel Watson was still sitting there in the 244th overall pick, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
