Everything else got attention, and quarterback got none. That is a strange way for the Cardinals to leave a draft.
Landing Mills that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 8 they get a cornerstone up front at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They paid sticker price for Howard Cross III in No. 46, and that is fine. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Evan Stewart at pick No. 61. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Value with a capital V on Jason Marshall Jr. in pick 104, a genuine coup. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Rylie Mills slipping to Round 5, Pick 8 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
No drama and no debate, Jonah Coleman went about where he belonged in the 168th overall pick. A need, and now a little less of one.
They took Oronde Gadsden II at par in the Round 7 slot, which is nothing to complain about. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
