The Shaun Dolac pick is the one that will follow the Cardinals into the fall. They took him 169 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Loveland. Job largely done: quarterback settled and 8 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Not a disaster, not a triumph, just a middling class.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 24th pick they get a premier pass rusher at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
In No. 28 they get juice off the edge, though the board says they badly overpaid. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Steal is underselling it; Kenneth Grant at slot 47 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The roster fit checks out.
Armand Membou at pick 48 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A wild overpay on Maxwell Hairston in the 49th overall pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
The board fumbled Jalon Walker all the way to pick No. 78, and they scooped it up. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Kyle Kennard at Round 3, Pick 15. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
