The Cardinals did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Elijah Arroyo fell into pick No. 187. The bottom line is a respectable B+.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. Reaching for Roberts left real value on the table behind him.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 18th pick they get a disruptor off the edge, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
In the 25th overall pick they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
Mike Green at pick 47 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A reach for Donovan Jackson in No. 78; a little patience would have been rewarded. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Azareye'h Thomas in Round 3, Pick 17 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A minor itch, scratched.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Luke Kandra. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A quarterback of that caliber at the Round 4 slot is the definition of value, full stop. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Chris Paul Jr. at pick No. 127 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It fills a real need, too.
They will replay Tez Johnson at slot 137 for years; that is how good the value is. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A straight-up fair deal on Raheim Sanders at pick 153, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
By-the-book stuff, Ty Robinson at the 167th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Elijah Roberts at pick No. 173 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Steal is underselling it; Elijah Arroyo at Round 6, Pick 9 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They barely believed it either: Ricky White III still on the board at the 236th pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
