The Cardinals treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending slot 125 on Barryn Sorrell a full 154 spots early. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D.
Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. However the rest shakes out, Winston Jr. at that price is a win they earned.
Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.
A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.
Pick-by-Pick
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Kenneth Grant at pick 39. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They will replay Jalon Walker at slot 47 for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Tyler Warren in the 63rd pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Dylan Fairchild at No. 64 is the proof. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They liked Tez Johnson enough to skip the value, taking him in pick No. 81. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Luke Kandra in the Round 3 slot, miles early. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Ahmed Hassanein at pick 91 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
