The Cardinals did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Cam Skattebo fell into No. 151. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
The Ezeiruaku pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.
The trade work was a quiet net positive. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher. A real need, handled.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Donovan Ezeiruaku well ahead of where he belonged. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Tyler Warren slid further than he should have, and pick 55 is lovely value for the tight end. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A slide stopped in the 78th pick, with Deone Walker worth more than the price. It fills a real need, too.
Fair-plus on Savion Williams, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A real head-scratcher, Hayden Conner in slot 117 is miles ahead of his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They took Carson Schwesinger at par in pick No. 123, which is nothing to complain about. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Cam Skattebo at the 151st overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The roster fit checks out.
