You can hear the double-takes from here. The Cardinals took Antwaun Powell-Ryland at pick No. 78, roughly 83 spots before his name belonged.
Getting Campbell where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 16 they get a building block for the line, though the board says they badly overpaid. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Jack Sawyer at the 47th overall pick is the proof. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Antwaun Powell-Ryland in pick No. 78 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They will replay Jihaad Campbell at the 114th pick for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Darius Alexander in pick 153 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
