If you want a masterclass in dealing, watch the Cardinals, who turned every swap into a profit this weekend. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.
The Jackson value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 27th overall pick they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher, outstanding value to boot.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Aireontae Ersery. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Value with a capital V on Benjamin Morrison in Round 2, Pick 27, a genuine coup. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Demetrius Knight Jr. slid further than he should have, and the Round 3 slot is lovely value for the linebacker. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at slot 114 is the definition of value, full stop. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Joshua Farmer at pick 136 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They paid sticker price for Nick Nash in the 153rd overall pick, and that is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
