The Cardinals ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. The Bassa value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. Nik Bonitto gives the group a proven body among the projects.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 20th pick they get a coverage-and-run second-level piece. A clean fit for the roster.
No edge and no loss on Aireontae Ersery in pick No. 47; it is a wash and a sensible one. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They liked Tez Johnson enough to skip the value, taking him in the 78th overall pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Danny Stutsman at slot 81 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
By-the-book stuff, Ajani Cornelius at pick 114 squarely in line with his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Value with a capital V on Jaylin Noel in Round 4, Pick 17, a genuine coup. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A linebacker of that caliber at the 153rd overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
KeAndre Lambert-Smith in No. 199 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
