The Jones Jr. pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 27th overall pick they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.
Jonah Savaiinaea at the Round 2 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Cam Skattebo well ahead of where he belonged. The roster fit checks out.
A premium they did not need to pay, Jaylin Noel a notch or two before his time. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Elijah Arroyo at slot 114 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Taking Jared Wilson in the 136th pick is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Ahmed Hassanein this early at the 153rd pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
You do not let an offensive lineman like Emery Jones Jr. reach the Round 5 slot and blink. They did not. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
