When a board-topper like Cam Skattebo slides to the Round 5 slot, you do not overthink it, and the Cardinals did not. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a disruptive interior force. A real need, handled.
Taking Jalon Walker in Round 2, Pick 15 is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They barely believed it either: Xavier Watts still on the board at No. 78. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
The board fumbled Jake Majors all the way to slot 114, and they scooped it up. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Somehow Cam Skattebo was still sitting there in pick 151, and they pounced on premier running back value. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
