Thirty-one other rooms let TreVeyon Henderson slide, and the Commanders were the ones holding the card at the 148th pick. Highway robbery.
If Mesidor pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.

Malaki Starks at Round 2, Pick 29 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It adds depth where they could use a little.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jayden Higgins in the 79th pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They barely believed it either: TreVeyon Henderson still on the board at pick No. 148. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Hayden Conner in pick 207 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They paid sticker price for Logan Parr in the Round 7 slot, and that is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A big swing on Akheem Mesidor at the 250th overall pick, well ahead of any board in the building. It fills a real need, too.
