It is the swing that defines the weekend: Khalid Duke in No. 244, a good 46 spots before the room expected him. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
McGlothern at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 24 they get a cornerstone up front. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Kingsley Suamataia in pick No. 56 is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Nothing to complain about; Blake Corum went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They read the board right and Dwight McGlothern was the payoff at the 174th pick. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A premium they did not need to pay, Trevin Wallace a notch or two before his time. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A straight-up fair deal on Tayvion Robinson at Round 7, Pick 13, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Khalid Duke in No. 244 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A minor need, but a need all the same.
