Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Myles Harden got past him. The Cowboys do not have to explain a thing at the Round 7 slot. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. If Wallace pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 24 they get an anchor for the offensive line. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Tyler Guyton at pick 56 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A clean, defensible pick in the 87th pick with a little surplus value in Blake Corum. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A reach on Jordan Jefferson in Round 5, Pick 38; the board had better options right there. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They liked Trevin Wallace enough to skip the value, taking him in No. 216. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A wide receiver of that caliber at pick No. 233 is the definition of value, full stop. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Myles Harden in the 244th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
